ZXHN H298A V1.0 DNS Settings (Published on:1/21/2019 3:35:50 PM)

Hello Everyone;

I'm a client of TurkTelekom (TTNET) in turkey as a FiberNet user. The service provider gave ZTE H298A V1.0 modem and set it up.

I try to set DNS adresses manually as 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

As you can see on Manual DNS field, "On" is greyed out and not selectable.

The router uses the DNS adresses of the ISP.

I tried to change provider setting, but as i enter "@ttnet" part at the username, it turns back to TTNET setting.

Is it possible to install global firmware instead of custom made for TTNET? Where can i find it?

How can i resolve this problem, because TTNET in Turkey doesn't provide any support for this device.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hello,

Because you login H298A via web using general account number, so you don't modify it on interface.

If you want to modify it, you need connect with engineer of Turktelekom, let he use administrator account number to login ,then modify it.

Thanks!

Hello,

Unfortunately this "dhcp server" screen doesn't exist on my router.

I solved the problem by buying a new access point, and entering static ip's to the access point.

But i think it is important to solve the matter for other users in Turkey, experiencing the same problem.

As you can see this model has only "DNS provider" section, and it doesn't allow to change the dns records.

On the "lan group" section, you can write dns numbers but there is no apply button.

I know it is hard to believe, but there is really no "dhcp server" section.

I include other screenshots that you can see there is no other way to change the dns setting.

Therefore maybe a global firmware can include "DHCP Server" section, i believe this device has custom firmware to prevent users from changing DNS.

The first one is Local Network > LAN > IPv4- screen.

PS: i tried to remove the gaps between pictures, but the editor doesn't allow me. Sorry.

Hello,

If you want to let network card of PC to get DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, then PC can open website via 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 to analysis domain of website.

You can login H298A via web and configure DNS on Local Network > LAN > IPv4---->DHCP Server interface.

Thanks!
